Overdose Fatality Review Facilitator

We're pleased to introduce Paul Fahey, a seasoned professional from Primeau • Fahey & Associates, who is now available as an Overdose Fatality Review (OFR) Facilitator for Nonprofits and County Departments of Health in New York State and beyond. Paul is further supported by a team of seven professionals with various roles in research and reporting.

About Paul Fahey:

Paul brings a unique blend of lived experience, a commitment to harm reduction values, and extensive expertise in facilitating Overdose Fatality Reviews. With a proven track record working with various counties and the New York State Department of Health Office of Drug User Health, Paul is dedicated to transforming raw data into actionable insights for positive community impact.

  • Formally Trained Next-of-Kin Interviewer. In addition to his experience moderating hundreds of focus groups for healthcare organizations, Paul is formally trained as a next-of-kin interviewer. The insights shared by these people has been invaluable to his clients.

What an OFR Facilitator Does:

As your OFR Facilitator, we will:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of overdose fatalities, analyzing contributing factors.

  • Interview key stakeholders and next-of-kin for powerful insights.

  • Facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings to gather insights from various stakeholders, including powerpoint-guided presentations, timelines, and interview recordings.

  • Develop actionable recommendations for policy, prevention, and intervention strategies.

  • Provide ongoing support to implement recommended changes and monitor their impact.
